Emily Graziano; Artist
Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Emily Graziano and I'm an artist trying their best to create meaningful work in a world that has become brutally competitive and fast-paced. If you've come to this page, chances are you're hoping to learn a little more about the person behind the art on this site, and I would be happy to oblige! If that's not what you're here for, then I think you may have stumbled onto the wrong tab on this site; the artwork is just down the hall to the right, and by that I mean two tabs over.
Now, if you're curious to know a little more about who I am and how I came to be talking to you through this site, you're in the right place. I hail from a place in Pennsylvania called Coatesville, where I've spent the vast majority of my life so far. I went to a very small charter school in Exton, PA, where I graduated with 62 other people, a few close friends, and a penchant for art and music that I couldn't quite shake. I had started drawing when I was a little kid, and I have always loved it as a hobby; something to do in my spare time. But as I went through middle and high school, it started to grow into something more. Teachers started nudging me to take more art courses, and one teacher in particular, Mr. Springer, urged me to enter into a poster contest. Always eager to please, and excited at the prospect of sharing my work with more than just my friends, I entered the contest.
And my poster won.
The thrill of that win was the spark I needed to start signing up for more art classes in high school, to join the Art Honor Society that was just starting, and to apply to Kutztown University when I graduated from Collegium in 2016. I submitted my fledgling portfolio, which pales in comparison to my current works, and was graciously accepted into the studio arts program.
Four years later, and here I am, sketching, painting, printing, taking photos, and creating almost constantly, with mere weeks until I have a degree under my belt. It has been a long journey of practice, sleepless nights, and copious amounts of caffeine, but I have come a far way since that contest so many years ago. I have spent countless hours practicing and improving my craft, and there is still so far for me to go; I am far from finished growing and expanding. I plan to continue making artwork until there's no air left in my lungs, and I hope that my work can reach the hearts and minds of people everywhere.
If you're interested in learning more about my art, my commission work, or you want to hear more, please don't hesitate to reach out! I always enjoy talking to people about art, and I would love to hear from you.
